How to be a CISVer...

How to be a CISVer...

7 of 19.

I believe this is a CISV Philippines shirt, but I'm not certain. The
text reads as follows...

"Choose peace. Hug a lot. Sing in the Rain. Be Spontaneous. Do the
pony song. Make new friends. Laugh often. Do the Labadu. Give
massages. LOVE. Run under the sun. Play! Make peace, not war. Act
silly. Understand one another's points of view. Learn to make
friendship bracelets. Stay up late. Have a merry heart. Jump and
fly during kiitos. Sing during lullabies. Plant a tree. Give lots
of goodnight hugs. Go Barefoot. Get excited about everything. Be
open to different cultures. Have fun. Learn greetings in different
languages. Be a clown. Don't be afraid to cry. Be a free spirit.
Volunteer. Make a difference, touch someone's life. LIVE LIFE."

Let's see... I've got just about all of those, except I don't know
what the Labadu is.

The picture was taken by our fearless willage director, Bernt (NOR) at
the Helt i 100 village in Tromsø, Norway.

Yeah, upon further review of my photo collection, it's definitely a CISV Philippines shirt- their entire delegation had 'em. They might be a 2004 design, though.

Just FYI... the Labadu is a dance-thing with a song. It goes something along the lines of "Dancing the labadu" over and over and you grab different parts (leg, arm, ear) of the person next to you as you dance. Like everyone will grab the leg of the person to their right and dance around in a circle singing the song. -catie (usa)

this shirt was designed by the Filipino jbs who 'staffed' overnight before the 2001 precampers arrived....first version was on a huge paper!

My daughter traded a friend from the Philippines for this shirt this past summer, 2007, at her Village. I love this shirt, which seems to have lasted a long time!
