On the first day the participants arrived to the campsite the staff performed a presentation using the Baywatch Theme (the lyrics are below) where the staff were the "Hasselhoff Rescue Team". And since this presentation we all felt a bit connected to Hasselhoff and the song. And that's why we chose the camp name "Camp Hasselhoff", 'cause it meant something for us. It was much more than a simple german actor, it represented all the fun, sad and great time we spent together in Finland. The song and David Hasselhoff have much a more powerful meaning for us.

Love you all Hasselhoffers!

============

Baywath Theme

Some people stand in the darkness
Afraid to step into the light
Some people need to help somebody
When the edge of surrender is in sight...

Don't you worry!
Its gonna be alright
'Cause I'm always ready,
I won't let you out of my sight.

I'll be ready (I'll be ready)
Never you fear (no don't you fear)
I'll be ready
Forever and always
I'm always here.

In us we all have the power
But sometimes its so hard to see
And instinct is stronger than reason
It's just human nature to me...

Don't you worry!
Its gonna be alright
'Cause I'm always ready,
I won't let you out of my sight.

I'll be ready (I'll be ready)
Never you fear (no don't you fear)
I'll be ready
Forever and always
I'm always here.

(Instrumental)

'Cause I'm always ready
I won't let you out of my sight!

I'll be ready (I'll be ready)
Never you fear (no don't you fear)
I'll be ready
Forever and always
I'm always here.

Forever and always
I'm always here.

FYI: David Hasselhoff was born in 1952 in Baltimore and is American, and not a German!!! This misconception derives from the fact that Baywatch was a fairly successful TV show in Germany and some of his songs made it into the top ten (Looking for Freedom), I guess. However, it drives me nuts, that whenever I travel to the US, people think EVERYBODY in Germany LOVES Hasselhoff. I admit I recorded a few of his songs onto a mix tape when I was 10 years old...but please let him be an American, ok??? Learn more about David here. Although, I must day, I disagree that Looking for Freedom was an "anthem of the time" for the coming down of the wall - if a song was that, it must have been "Wind of Change" by the Scorpions - which indeed are a German band.(Although one not to be proud of, either...)

Nick sorry, but for us Hasselhoff will always be German! :) Just kidding. Thanks for the clarification! :)

Peace!

I must admit that this shirt is awesome as well. But I agree with my friend with the crazy eye, Jay from Frisco, it seems as cool as our seminar camp in Denmark.
